RED

I was driving down a country road near Camp Hill, Alabama one Winter afternoon...it had snowed a few days earlier...all the snow (for the most part) had melted...everything was crisp from the cold weather...all the colors of the earth were vibrant, yet dead...the sky was an empty white, the air clean...trees were dormant with remnants of the last season of Fall...a leaf here and there...and the grasses along the roadside were a deep blood red...I had never before seen grass so red...the scene captivated me...I had to pull over and take it all in...

Nothing ever really dies...

...it just...
...transforms...

These photos were taken several years ago...I am so glad I had my camera on me that day...
I plan on painting these on canvas so these images will transform...
as did the grasses...
a continuum...
