"Kiddies and Kitties"

When Keen and I first met he had 6 cats...Mr. Kittie, Mucho Gusto, Wiggler, Lil' Stuff, MeowMeow, and Snuggy Bugs! These kitties were all around the same age (older cats) and because of that, they all (but one) died close together and in a short period of time...! Cooper had a hard time with the "death" thing, but we talked about life and death and how death isn't a bad thing...its natural...and how we move onto our next life (including cats...*wink*)...!

We went through a MAJOR change in the house, from kitties everywhere to only one...Mucho Gusto! As much of a pain in the ass (at times) having that many cats could be...we missed them!
Keen missed the kitties the most
(after all, he had had these cats for 10+ years)...!

So...I decided it was time to get a kitten or two!
One for Keen and one for Cooper.
We ended up with 3...

I did not tell the boys that I was planning on getting them kittens, I wanted it to be a surprise! So I looked around for months at Humane Societies (3 different counties) and there were NO KITTENS! WHAT??? For months I looked for kittens...none...anywhere!? People with "FREE KITTENS TO A GOOD HOME" signs were nowhere to be found??? It was as if all kittens on the face of this planet had been removed! LOL!
Seriously?
Sigh...

Until one day...I go to Lake Martin Humane Society and there were KITTENS! A ton of kittens! I mean..."I don't know where to begin, kittens"...! Exciting! Yay! Which 2 do I pick? And then, I started to doubt myself! Do we really need kittens? Is Keen going to get mad? Can we afford the creatures? Should I do this?

FUCK YES!

As I passed by this one cage with the smallest little...ugliest little...kitten, to make my way to other kittens, the little thing meowed at me! But not just any meow...a ridiculously-annoying-desperate-OMG-get-me-outta-here meow and I thought, "No"...! LOL! Every time I passed by this kitten, she would be poised in a completely different position, more and more dramatic and desperate with each pose, determined to get my attention! The last position (which was when I fell for her) was when she hung from the cage with two paws, meowing as if she was falling off a cliff and needed help! Very dramatic! That's when I thought, "You are JUST LIKE Cooper...! Yep...you are Cooper's cat...for sure!" She reminded me of when Cooper was a little boy...and every morning that I would drop him off at Day Care (before going to work), as I pulled out of the parking lot, I would see in my rear view mirror, Cooper...clinging onto the playground fence mouthing, "Mama!"
JUST LIKE THIS KITTEN!
Yep...
Now...which one for Keen?
At the time, our most recent feline deaths had been MeowMeow (Siamese) and Snuggy Bugs (Tuxedo)! As I went from cage to cage, I came across one that had a brother and sister penned together. One was Siamese...and the other was a Tuxedo, like MeowMeow and Snuggy Bugs...only switch the sex! lol! That pretty much sealed the deal for me! All 3 cats came home with me...and when Keen and Cooper saw the kittens...they fell in love immediately!
Keen looked at me and said,
"You did a good thing..."

Their names:

Calico: Pebbles
Siamese: Cosmic Ray
Tuxedo: Buggy (named after Snuggy Bugs)

BELOW: This little kitten was found and given to us the same time we adopted the other (three) kittens from the Humane Society. We named her Sylvie, but unfortunately, she didn't make it! She had been pulled too soon off her mama's tit (very young) and died from hyperthermia (very common)...
*sad face*

She sure was a cutie!

BELOW: If you look closely, you will see a very long person (Cooper)
sleeping with very small kittens...hee hee!

BELOW: These are kittens that came from a mama cat that belonged to Kayla! I took the mama cat home with me, with the intent of finding her and her babies (once born) homes...which I did! The kittens were born at our house in a closet we cozied up for her! Neither Keen nor Cooper had ever seen newborn kittens before!
It was super kewl!

xo

ADORABLE (the kittens are pretty cute too...*wink*)...!
